The night you spoke to our youth group, we were encouraged and challenged through your words and lyrics. By the end of the night many had been reminded - or even learned for the very first time - that God has a "World Vision". I'm not exactly sure but I think about 20 children received sponsorships. The child that I chose caught my eye because he was from a country and even city that I had been to.
Four years ago our church began sending short term missions teams to Blantyre,
Malawi. While there I had the great privilege of meeting with the World Vision
representatives and - my sponsored child, Juma Willison, his mother and uncle!
In order to see me, they had traveled 350 kilometers - in Africa that's an incredible
distance. First they set out by canoe and then by truck - their travel time
was two days.
I wanted you to know how God used you and to remind you that God always has a plan. It's a plan that makes partners out of strangers for the purpose of spreading His Great Love. Today, right now there is a family in an obscure village in that place called Africa, which has not only heard about but has actually seen the Love of God face to face.
I will cherish this memory for life. Thank you for helping us do it - "One
By One".
